I find it rather disheartening all their music is so undeniably good, yet Finch isn't able to put out their new material quite yet.

I'm not complaining anymore that it's taking so long, as I'm pretty sure whatever they can put out in the distant future is going to be more than worth the wait, pretty sure the reason it's taking so long is understandable, and more than certain I'm going to be able to enjoy their new material for years to come.

Is Finch unable to find a distributor for the new record? Do they have a producer? An engineer? Are they looking for a label to support them, or are they ostracized from the music industry for the whole Geffen/SHTS thing? And more importantly, I'm still really glad Finch is at least working and putting out new materiel, got back together in the first place, and are happy with what they're doing. stumbled upon the Finch/Twin Atlantic – Split EP which includes studio recordings of both Finch's "Hail to the Fire" and their cover of Far's "Bury White" (which i never thought they would record and OMG so glad they did!!!!!!)

i think that first four songs are really strong and very SHTS type of progressive but then some of songs just need to have... motion i guess, it's plenty of music room that's not explored and i think that, IMO of course, they need to have more time to figure out the right direction (songs & members) with all the little details which makes their song so special!

I've set myself a new art project and I need YOUR help!

In July this year, my Granda passed away from Cancer only three weeks after finding out he had the disease. Other people in my family have also been affected by Cancer. My uncle's fiancee had Ovarian Cancer a few years back, my other Grandad also passed away from a form of the disease and when I was nine, we lost my Uncle to it also.

This got me thinking, most people I know have had a relative or a friend who has been affected by Cancer. I wanted to help in some way to raise awareness and funds to aid Cancer Research so I started to think about what I could do.

My Granda always loved my artwork so I've decided in memory of him, I want to put together a book of portraits, sell copies of it and donate a large percentage of the profits to Cancer Research.

Soooo that's where you guys come in!
I'd like the book to be a collection of my drawings of people who have either had the disease, know someone who's suffered from it or just basically anyone who'd like to be involved.
I'd like to get as many people involved as I can.

If you're reading this and you'd like to be a part of the book, it would be awesome if you could send me a photograph of yourself, along with your name, which country you're from and a short message to go alongside the drawing of you that I will do.

The message can be in memory of a loved one who you've lost to Cancer or how you feel about the disease. Something positive would be good, a short message to give hope to other people.

The photograph you send me must be a decent size image, close enough to see the details of your face so I can make my drawings accurate. Feel free to post your image and your message in the comments here although it may be better to send them to my email address as I think the pictures will come out bigger.

I was just wondering if there would be any chance at all of getting some Finch songs created for the RBN? (the how to's are here http://creators.rockband.com/ ) Being a ps3'r myself I won't even get a whiff of these DLC's until they start releasing the "Best of RBN DLC" to us, which could be a long while from now....probably about as far in the future as the new Finch LP wink.gif But in the meantime I thought it would be awesome for anyone on xbox to be able to rock out to Finch DLC.

Any takers? Any reason why this couldn't happen? Any "RockBand/GuitarHero is lame, go pick up a REAL instrument loser!" comments?
